As part of the existing building assessment, the facade of the HIL building was examined in detail. To this end, a facade section on Level E, including its connections to Level D and the adjacent terrace, was dismantled. In addition, part of the floor assembly was exposed to reveal the full facade build-up.
During the investigation, specialists assessed the condition of the individual facade components, insulation layers and joints. Particular attention was paid to the thickness of the corrosion protection coating on the facade fixings, as well as to the fire-stopping seals designed to prevent fire spread between floors.
The findings from this investigation provide an important basis for planning the upcoming facade renovation.
