To better understand the performance of the existing HIL façade — and explore how it can be improved in the future — the team led by Professor Dr. Arno Schlüter removed a façade element and transferred it to the laboratory for detailed testing.
By analysing the glazing and façade components under controlled conditions, the researchers can assess their thermal performance and investigate retrofit strategies that improve energy efficiency while preserving the architectural quality of the building.
The findings will contribute to future scenarios for the transformation of HIL and support evidence-based decisions for its long-term development.
